L’Équipe report that Ligue 1 side Nîmes are closing in on the surprising signing of 31-year-old attacking midfield veteran Romain Philippoteaux from Auxerre.
The deal has apparently been in the offing for several weeks, with Philippoteaux scoring 4 goals and laying on 4 assists last season for AJA.
The transfer fee is undisclosed, with Philippoteaux currently under contract until 2022 with Auxerre.
