No cardiac anomalies detected; Victor Osimhen will stay in hospital for another night

L’Équipe and others report that 20-year-old Nigerian international and Lille forward Victor Osimhen will spend a second consecutive night in a cardio-thoracic centre in Monaco.

Osimhen was substituted last night in the 1st half of Lille’s Coupe de la Ligue clash with AS Monaco, in a match in which Osimhen scored, after complaining about having chest pains.

He was conscious when he was withdrawn from action last night and underwent tests on his cardio-vascular system, the outcome of which was positive. Purely as a precaution, Osimhen will remain in this hospital for a second night.

He will undergo a final round of tests on Thursday morning – if these are all positive, Osimhen will return to Lille tomorrow.
