Lille have this evening confirmed the signing of 28-year-old French central midfielder Benjamin André from Rennes, a club where he was captain.
The €8m deal has been brokered by Les Dogues to replace Thiago Mendes, who departed for Lyon last week for €25m.
André is now under contract with LOSC until 2023, having played 184 matches with SRFC, in a move that he forced through despite the Brittany side’s reluctance.
The opportunity of Champions’ League football was too good to pass up on for the Frenchman at this stage of his career.
