Ligue 1 side Nantes have announced the appointment of ex-FC Lorient, Rennes & Algerian national team manager Christian Gourcuff as their new boss following the departure of Vahid Halilhodzic.
The 64-year-old arrives following an experience in Qatar with Al-Gharafa. The length of his contract is unknown.
Nantes President Waldemar Kita had the following to say:
“When I spoke to him on the phone, he had the kindness to listen to me and then accept. I think that he is one of the best coaches in France. We are really lucky to have him with us and he is a manager who we have wanted for many years. I thank him very much for joining us.”
