EA Guingamp have today completed the signing of young midfielder Mehdi Merghem from Ligue 2 side LB Châteauroux.
The 21 year-old, whose deal at the Stade Gaston Petit was due to expire at the end of the season, has signed a contract until the summer of 2022 with Jocelyn Gourvennec’s strugglers, who currently sit bottom of Ligue 1.
An exciting prospect – who primarily operates in centre midfield – is the latest in a busy winter window for Guingamp, following the arrivals of Alexandre Mendy and both Didier Ndong and Papy Djilobodji from Sunderland, as they look to bolster the quality of their first team in aid of their survival bid.
Merghem will wear the shirt no. 19 at the Stade de Roudourou.
