Norwegian international midfielder Ole Selnaes left St Étienne’s Carquefou training camp yesterday, officially because he “was sick”, but in reality he is attempting to force a move to China through, according to L’Équipe.
Shenzhen FC are offering the 24-year-old €10m spread across 3 years, 5 times the salary that Selnaes is currently receiving from St Étienne. Zenit St Petersburg are also interested in the Norwegian, who is actively seeking to force the hands of ASSE executives and let him leave.
ASSE claim to have yet to receive a formal transfer offer from Shenzhen FC, with the player’s agent instead promising that he has received a written proposal. The fee on offer currently appears to be around €6m.
Les Verts’ intention was to sell the player for upwards of €10m in summer, when he would have 12 months left on his current deal.
