RMC report that PSG President Nasser Al Khelaifi did not know who Lille Sporting Director Luis Campos was when the pair clashed on Sunday night during the latter club’s 5-1 thrashing of the champions elect.
One red card handed to Juan Bernat and two goals refused for offside, by half-time on Sunday evening PSG President Al Khelaifi, who had travelled to Lille just so he could be there to watch his team be confirmed as champions, was angry.
In the dressing rooms at half-time, tension was in the air – Al Khelaifi tried to get at the 4th official, shouting: “What is the point of you? We need to raise the level of French football.”
Le Parisien report that Luis Campos heard NAK’s words and confronted him: “Don’t put pressure on the referee. This is not Paris. This is Lille. And Lille deserves respect.”
Nasser then is alleged to have snapped back: “And you, who are you?”
Whilst Antero Henrique intervened to stop the ensuing argument, it continued back in the Lille VIP box as the 2nd half got underway. At this point, Al Khelaifi realised that Campos was an advisor of Lille President Gérard Lopez’s and the atmosphere was uncomfortable in the box, with Wilfrid Mbappé, Kylian’s father, knowing both individuals personally looking especially uneasy as they continued to bicker with their voices raised.
The argument died down as Lille extended their lead throughout the 2nd half and Luis Campos quit the stands before the final whistle without exchanging further words with Al Khelaifi.
