RMC report that PSG have decided to open contract extension talks with Uruguayan international Edinson Cavani, whose current deal expires in 2020.
The club’s future Sporting Director, Leonardo, is set to take control of the situation and was notably the man who brought the player into Les Parisiens’ setup in 2013.
The intention from PSG is to offer a one-year extension, with this proposal made orally to the player’s entourage already; formal negotiations will begin in the coming weeks.
Cavani and Leonardo have an excellent relationship, with El Matador hoping to remain in Paris.
In June 2021, Cavani will be 34 and he can see himself finishing his European football career and returning to Uruguay.
