L’Équipe report that Ligue 1 duo Rennes and Lille remain in the race to sign 19-year-old winger Silas Wamangituka from Ligue 2 club Paris FC.
Marseille, Nantes and Toulouse, who were interested earlier on in the window, appear to have turned their attentions to other targets.
Angers are also there for the teenage attacker, in case Jeff Reine-Adélaïde is sold. Paris FC want €5m for a player under contract until 2021 with them.
One side have come close to offering this amount, they are Bundesliga clubs Schalke 04, but Wamangituka wants his next club to be in France and does not intend to go abroad yet.
As a result, SRFC lead the race. Paris FC’s General Manager Pierre Dréossi has a good relationship with the Brittany club. The Coupe de France winners could include a player on loan in the deal. For the moment, Rennes are offering €3m.
