L’Équipe report this morning that Barcelona central defender Samuel Umtiti’s name has been coming back into the conversation in recent hours in relation to Arsenal’s hunt for a centre-back.
They report that Technical Director Edu’s focus today remains signing 32-year-old Brazilian defender David Luiz from Chelsea, who refused to train with the Blues yesterday in an attempt to force a move to North London, after bids for Daniele Rugani (Juventus) and Dayot Upamecano (RB Leipzig) failed.
It would appear that the French international is a fall-back option to Luiz.
