St Étienne looking to finance summer window activity with sale of William Saliba

L’Équipe claim this morning that Ligue 1 side St Étienne are looking to finance their upcoming summer transfer window activity through the sale of 18-year-old central defensive prospect William Saliba, with the player then coming back on loan for the next 12 months.

Under contract until 2023, the French youth international has concrete interest from a handful of Premier League clubs: Southampton, Watford, Manchester City, Manchester United and Arsenal.

Adding that the Gunners appear to be able to offer the player an important role in their squad which could be what convinces the teenager.

No bids of any kind to speak of at present though.
