Tottenham continue to force the issue for Adrien Rabiot

Our colleagues at Paris United report this morning that Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur are continuing to force the issue to sign PSG midfielder Adrien Rabiot.

Mauricio Pochettino spoke with the Frenchman earlier this week to explain the club’s project and assure Rabiot a place in his starting XI. Spurs are offering the PSG midfielder a €5m signing fee and €7.5m a year, an enormous sacrifice on the North London club’s part owing to their current wage structure.

Serge Aurier and Lucas Moura are both actively attempting to convince Rabiot to join Spurs this winter. On the PSG side of things, they retain a very good relationship with Tottenham boss Daniel Levy, and the capital club favours a sale to Spurs this month.

Rabiot is hesitating: on the one hand he likes a lot the British capital and would be delighted to join back up with his former team-mates; on the flip side, his preferred destination in England is Liverpool, if he was to ever move to the Premier League.

Back in Paris, manager Thomas Tuchel told Rabiot that he would like to re-integrate him into the 1st team last week, something that was totally refused by Sporting Director Antero Henrique.
