As reported by RMC, Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur will meet with representatives from Ligue 1 side St Étienne in an attempt to close a deal to sign 18-year-old central defender William Saliba.
Bitter North London rivals Arsenal have had an agreement in principle with Les Verts since Monday over a €30m including bonuses deal, but talks had yet to be totally concluded as the Gunners tried to haggle over staggered instalment payments and bonus structures.
Saliba himself had already agreed a 5-year contract with The Gunners, in a deal that would have seen the Frenchman return to ASSE on loan for the 2019/20 campaign.
However, yesterday, Tottenham Hotspur made a proposal of €30m plus bonuses to St Étienne, which goes above and beyond their valuation of the player, in a deal that would also see Saliba return on loan to Les Verts for the next 12 months.
Manu Lonjon claims that Wolves have also not given up. The next 24 hours will be decisive in this saga.
