Vahid Halilhodžić to step down as Nantes manager

Ouest-France report that Ligue 1 side FC Nantes’ manager Vahid Halilhodžić has decided to quit his post and will do after their final friendly match against Genoa on Friday, leaving his side in the lurch just 9 days before the start of their league campaign.

His decision to do so is based on an ongoing feud with the board regarding transfer policy, but also sheer exhaustion of these constant battles between owners who are constantly seeking to do the absolute minimum for success, as well as the emotional toll of last season’s campaign and the passing of his friend Emiliano Sala.
