L’Équipe report this morning that Premier League side West Ham United have made a concrete approach for 28-year-old St Étienne defensive midfielder Yann M’Vila.
M’Vila joined ASSE in January 2018 with the goal of kickstarting his career on the European scene after a period of Russian exile with Ruban Kazan, but signed a 4-year deal with Les Verts last year after a fantastically successful return to French football.
He feels happy at St Étienne and has not decided if he will seek a departure this summer or not. He will be playing close attention to the future of manager Jean-Louis Gasset too, who was responsible for his arrival at St Étienne in the first place. The coach’s contract is due to expire at the end of this season and Gasset has not decided what his next move is yet.
