Zinedine Zidane returns as Real Madrid manager: “I love the president & the club a lot, so I am here.”

Speaking in his re-unveiling press conference, Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane explained his return to Los Blancos, having signed a contract that now runs until 2022.

“I left because I needed to. The club maybe didn’t want me to, but the squad needed a change. I decided to come back because the president (Florentino Perez) called me. I like the president and the club a lot, so I am here.”

“Some things will change. We will speak with the president and the club on what will be possible to do. But for the moment, we are changing nothing. We have 11 La Liga matches and what we want, is to finish well.”

“Of course this is a big challenge, and not because this is the second time. I don’t think about the past. If I thought about it, I would not have come back. It goes further today, I want to take control of this project for the president, for the club and the fans. I know that it is a challenge but I really want to manage again.”
