Ligue 1 side Angers have entered into conversations with 27-year-old French attacker Loïs Diony about a possible transfer from St Étienne, according to L’Équipe.
ASSE had held talks with Nantes about selling them Diony, but those conversations have since broken down.
Diony has 12 months remaining on his contract with ASSE – Le SCO have realised that they have major attacking deficiencies and want to bring a body in following the loan departure of Casimir Ninga to Sivasspor.
However, there is no guarantee that a deal for Diony to Angers will come off, as Les Verts have no intention of allowing the ex-Dijon man to leave for free and want a sale.
Diony has offers from Turkey, but would ideally remain in Europe’s top 5 leagues.
