Speaking to RMC Sport, Barcelona attacker Antoine Griezmann reflected on a tricky Champions’ League night against Napoli, where the Catalan giants settled for a 1-1 away draw.
“In the first half, we did not have any chances or shots on goal. It was tricky because I was not able to call for the ball from deep. In the second half, I had more space, so it was a little bit easier. We came to win, but such is life. There will be the 2nd leg at home, where things will be different. It was difficult to find each other (Messi), because he was largely on the right side, and me on the left. But when we play centrally, we try to have one-twos, to call for the ball from each other, because that is my job now.”
On his role at Barcelona:
I was sure, coming here, that it was going to take time. Because it is no longer up to me to construct play. I have to find spaces, create for others. It is a different job. But I have the heart to do my job and to help my team-mates, either up top or in defence.
