As reported by our colleagues at Foot Mercato, 20-year-old right-sided defender Mohamed Simakan is still being tracked intensely by Ligue 1 club AS Monaco, who would be keen on a deal with Strasbourg before the window closes in October.
At the end of July, an agreement even came close between the two clubs, before the Principality decelerated proceedings. Simakan is still open to a departure, but RCSA are seeking between €15m and €20m in order to allow for him to depart, which seems to be a stumbling block for ASM.
In recent days, a new club has entered the race, Serie A side Atalanta, who are in contact with the player’s representatives. They want to reach a provisional contract agreement with Simakan before making a formal offer to Strasbourg.
