Benjamin Mendy self-isolating after being in contact with potential COVID-19 patient

The BBC report that 25-year-old French international left-back Benjamin Mendy is self-isolating as of today after a member of his family was admitted to hospital after displaying COVID-19 symptoms.

Manchester City had the following to say on the news:

“The club is aware that a family member of a senior men’s team player is in hospital with symptoms of a respiratory illness.He has undergone tests at hospital one of which is for COVID-19. Until the results are known, the player in question in self isolating as a precaution.”
