Benoît Costil has asked to leave Bordeaux

RMC Sport report that Ligue 1 side Bordeaux’s club captain Benoît Costil submitted a request to the board to leave the club this summer about 10 days ago, exasperated by the perennial state of disarray that the team finds itself in, both financially and with current boss Paulo Sousa’s attempts to quit.

Although the French international has stopped short of submitting a formal transfer request, he did ask the FCGB board, currently headed up by Frédéric Longuépée, to be allowed to leave if an offer is made for him by another club this summer.

Costil is very frustrated by manager Sousa’s request to exit.
