Speaking on Téléfoot Chaine, 33-year-old Blaise Matuidi admitted that he has not yet given up on still playing for the French national team, despite taking the decision to leave European football this summer by exiting Juventus for MLS side Inter Miami.
“By going over there, I knew clearly that things would be different. For 10 years, I have been an important element for the French national team. When I made this decision, I knew that this was maybe going to change. That is the case. I am not losing my head over it, I feel good where I am. Aside from that, if the coach wants to call me, he knows that I will be there, like I always have. I am and I remain a soldier at the manager’s disposition. We will see. I am aware of the difficulty.”
