L’Équipe report that Ligue 1 side Bordeaux are seeking to sell 23-year-old French youth international goalkeeper Paul Bernardoni this summer.
Bernardoni, who has spent the last two season’s on loan with Ligue 1 outfit Nîmes, would not accept a situation next season of being the #2 behind Benoît Costil. Although the FCGB coaching staff appreciate the player, the club needs to raise funds in the eys of current owners King Street.
Les Crocos would like to loan Bernardoni for a third successive season, but Les Girondins want to sell and Nîmes could not afford the €7m asking price.
If Bordeaux are unable to find a buyer, then Nîmes can be hopeful that he will return to them once again on loan, as they would be the player’s preferred destination in that scenario.
