France Bleu Berry report that Ligue 2 side Châteauroux’s board have rejected a €5m offer to buy the club from Franco-American businessman Ravy Truchot.
Truchot, who confirmed the news to the local station, already owns two other football clubs: French 5th division side Evian Thonon Grand Genève FC and American outfit Miami City FC.
Truchot had the following to say on the matter:
“We received a communication from the club which said that our offer was rejected, without explanation or further communication. I had actually really wanted to do the deal. I am surprised because I have been an entrepreneur for a pretty long time, I have never seen something like this in my life. When you are a buyer, there is a discussion, exchanges and then we shake hands saying yes or now. But here, there haven’t been exchanges. There has been zero communication with the club.”
Châteauroux President Thierry Schoen had the following to say:
“We examined the offers and unanimously decided to continue to pursue some and not others. And sadly we are not moving forward with the one from Ravy Truchot because it is less good in terms of the interests of the club.”
