Speaking to RTL tonight, France boss Didier Deschamps admitted that he was in favour of making 5 substitutes per game a permanent part of football following its introduction post-COVID-19.
“5 substitutes, I really quite like it. There is a higher risk of injury with the end of the season and in the new one. Some players are facing a high rhythm. Two substitutes more per game gives more options. If this is extended, I am for it.”
On his future:
After the World Cup in Qatar, I will have been leading Les Bleus for more than 10 years, I am proud. I don’t exclude anything for my future. For the moment I don’t see myself in the governing bodies. I need adrenaline on the pitch.
