Speaking to Uruguayan channel Canal 4 upon his arrival in Uruguay, PSG striker Edinson Cavani discussed his decision to return to his native country with France on lockdown owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. He confirmed that he is going back to his hometown to provide them with help to fight the virus.

“We hope that everything will sort itself out, that everything will return to order. I am going to try to help over there (at Salto), if it is necessary.”
