36-year-old ex-Evian TG and Auxerre midfielder Thomas Kahlenberg has contracted the coronavirus, according to Danish club Bröndby.
Kahlenberg retired from professional football in 2017 – Bröndby announced in their statement that the ex-pro is in a stable condition.
Kahlenberg was present on Sunday at a match between Bröndby and Lungby BK – he had returned from a trip to Amsterdam, where he is understood to have contracted the virus.
Kahlenberg is currently in quarantine, alongside 13 other members of Bröndby, who had been in contact with him. The 21-year-old central defender Joel Kabongo is amongst these individuals.
