Premier League side Newcastle United have made contact over the possible signing of 20-year-old attacker Matthias Phaeton from Ligue 2 side EA Guingamp, according to sources contacted by Get French Football News.
The Magpies have not advanced talks from a simple enquiry at this stage and there is major doubt about whether or not they actually intend to do so before Monday’s deadline.
At the moment, contacts with his entourage, but no formal approach to Guingamp, who have thus not divulged what price they want for the young talent.
