Speaking to L’Équipe, French Football Federation President Noël Le Graët was asked about Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot’s relationship with the French national team, having last been called up as a reserve for the 2018 World Cup and refusing to participate.
“He is not suspended. I have not spoken with Ripoll (about possibly involving Rabiot at the Olympic Games). I don’t have an answer… It is a little more difficult if all our current starters are available (for Rabiot to get in Deschamps’ squad). But that does not just depend on me. I also know Didier quite well. He is not bitter, but he has a good memory. Me, I have never had anything against him (Rabiot). I wanted to meet with him, not to punish him. I am delighted to see him playing again for a prestigious club where he has had a starting spot in recent times.”
