FFF President Le Graët calls Eyraud-Aulas spat over COVID-19 “stupid”

Speaking on Téléfoot this morning, the French Football Federation President Noël Le Graët called for Lyon and Marseille presidents Aulas and Eyraud to cease in their public spat about what should happen if this league season does not get completed owing to the COVID-19 outbreak.

“I am asking them to find their calm again, to be like all the French today who are going to fight this each in their own way, some of them with their own specific set of difficulties or in everyday life where it is much harder to deal with this than dealing with football. I ask them to calm down and be dignified in what they say, because currently what they are saying makes no sense and does not make them look any stronger. They are two great operators, they show that they have two good teams but to want to win a place in Europe because there is a virus doesn’t seem to me to be very productive. The federation is the sole body that will decide the future. Don’t waste your breath, don’t be ridiculous. Today, we are fighting the virus. The other fight, who plays in Europe? It is stupid. Anyone who wishes not to remain in line under this framework will come and see me because I find this to be quite ridiculous, stupid, clumsy.”
