FFF President Le Graët: “Ligue 1, Ligue 2, National & Division 1 (women) seasons are definitively over.”

Speaking in an interview with Le Télégramme, FFF President Noël Le Graët confirmed the definitive termination of the 2019/20 Ligue 1, Ligue 2, National and Division 1 (women)’s seasons following the French government announcement this afternoon that football could not return, even behind closed doors, until August.

“We informed the committee, what they already knew, that the Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 seasons were not restarting, that the National and Division 1 (women’s) seasons were not restarting either. These four competitions are definitively over for the 2019/20 season.”

Le Graët however admitted that he still hoped to play the Coupe de France and Coupe de la Ligue finals:

“I would like it that we can do the Coupe de France at the beginning of August, before the Coupe de la Ligue and then the (2020/21) season starts. But I have no certainty here.”
