Guingamp seeking to extend Mehdi Boudjemaa’s contract

Goal France report that Ligue 2 side EA Guingamp are seeking to get 22-year-old midfielder Mehdi Boudjemaa to sign a contract extension until 2022.

New Director of Football Xavier Gravelaine has begun seeking to lock down the club’s most promising youth talents following the marquee signing of Paul-Georges Ntep on a free transfer.

Three members of the 1999 generation, at the end of their youth contracts, have received professional deal offers: Ervin Taha, Baptiste Roux and Axel Urié.

Pro contracts have also been offered to Yoann Cathline and Hady Camara, of the 2002 generation. An offer has also been made to 20-year-old goalkeeper Dominique Youfiegane and talks are ongoing to extend Yohan Bilingi’s contract, who spent the 2019/20 season on loan at Bastia-Borgo.

22-year-old midfielder Mehdi Boudjemaa’s contract situation is however seen as the club as one of the most pressing – they have an offer to him to extend his deal until June 2022, with it currently due to expire in 12 months time.

He spent the second half of this campaign on loan at Quevilly, but was only able to make 5 appearances for them. EAG would be seeking to loan him out again for the 2020/21 campaign, should he sign an extension. In this regard, a host of clubs have made approaches for the talent in recent days, including Quevilly, Lyon-Duchère, Bourg and Laval.
