Speaking in an interview with France Football, one of Jadon Sancho’s first ever football coaches, Sayce Holmes-Lewis, discussed the player’s special relationship with Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson.
Was Sancho already a special talent at such a young age?
Absolutely. Very expressive, extremely technical, he retained possession very well, and, above all he played with a smile on his face. He has always played a lot of football, with the game in his life, like Reiss Nelson, his best friend. They are not just friends, they are like brothers. As kids, they were inseparable. They spent all their time together, and, what was even better, is that they always pushed each other to do better. They have had this friendship since they were friends, it is a true bromance. And on the pitch as well. Reiss always pushed Jadon and vice-versa, in all aspects: the technical side and the competition side. There has always been these desire, in both of them, to want to win.
