Speaking to RMC Sport, Sevilla central defender Jules Koundé discussed his level of personal growth following a win over Rennes in the Champions’ League.
“I think that it is work, also experience of playing big matches here, and to play a lot. I have always focused on improving, I think that I can improve a lot of aspects of my game still, but I am happy with my match today.”
On Sevilla’s aims this season:
We have big aims, each year a club like Sevilla must play in the Champions’ League so must finish in the top three or four in La Liga. And in the group the aim is to finish top. That is not to put pressure on by saying it, I think that we have the team to do it, now we have to show that on the pitch and go as far as possible.
On dreaming of a senior France call-up:
Of course that is something in my frame of mind, I am do everything to have this opportunity, the chance, to play for the senior team. I know that there are a lot of guys (at centre-back), but I am content to give my maximum on a daily basis for Sevilla and the France U21s. And then if it is supposed to come, it will come.
