France Football report that Premier League side Liverpool had a €35m bid for Villarreal’s Nigerian attacker Samuel Chukwueze rejected last month.
The 20-year-old wide attacker has been identified as good initial cover for Mohamed Salah on the right-hand side of LFC’s attack. Jürgen Klopp apparently feels well-stocked in other areas and viewed the January arrival of Takumi Minamino as cover for Roberto Firmino, whilst Divock Origi and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are good back-ups for Sadio Mané, per the report, in the German’s mind.
Villarreal rejected the offer because they want to receive the amount listed as his release clause if they are to allow him to depart, which is €65m. Chelsea are also watching the young star closely.
