Loïc Rémy left in suspense by Lille about possible contract extension

33-year-old French striker Loïc Rémy admitted on Instagram Live earlier this week that he does not know if he will be at Ligue 1 side Lille next season, with his current deal expiring in June, but with Les Dogues having the option to trigger a 1-year extension.

“I feel good at Lille, we will have to see if all the conditions come together. The topic has not been discussed much before and I do not know why, because for example, a player like José Fonte received an extension at the beginning of the season and me, I have not had any specific contact up until now… There has not been much movement in that direction in recent months so the question is still in suspense today. But I like the conditions I am in off the pitch, the town, I receive an enormous amount of messages from Lille fans and that makes me happy.”
