Lyon President Aulas: “Restart the 2019/20 season? That’s what we’ll demand from the courts.”

Speaking on After RMC tonight, Lyon President Jean-Michel Aulas confirmed that his club will head into their hearing with the national court tomorrow to demand that the Ligue 1 2019/20 campaign is restarted, following an initial LFP decision at the end of April to terminate the season.

“That is what we are going to ask for in court tomorrow. The National Court will have to judge on the issue of returning to action and the way in which the stoppage came about. I had a meeting this afternoon with Nasser Al-Khelaifi and the ECA, the association of European clubs and the procedure proposed by UEFA is the one that we can follow today: return to training now and play the matches in 3 or 4 weeks.”

Legal experts contacted by RMC believe that Aulas’ fight in front of the courts tomorrow has very little chance of succeeding – the ruling from tomorrow’s hearing will not come out on the same day and will likely be published at the beginning of next week.
