Marseille interested in summer deal with Rennes for M’Baye Niang (L’Équipe)

L’Équipe report that Marseille Sporting Director Andoni Zubizarreta has approached the entourage of Senegalese international striker M’Baye Niang, who currently plays for Rennes, about a possible summer transfer window.

The outlet claims that Niang is Zubi’s number one priority in attack for next season, should Marseille have the budget to be able to purchase him. A meeting is due to occur in the middle of March between the OM board and Villas-Boas to discuss the summer transfer window.

The 25-year-old is enticed by Marseille’s interest, but it will all depend on the club’s financial menas. Rennes are understood to value the player at €30m and Zubizarreta does not yet know if he’ll be able to spend that much.
