L’Équipe report that Serie A side Napoli have accelerated conversations with German outfit Mainz to sign 22-year-old French striker Jean-Philippe Mateta.
Conversations had already been occurring in earnest last week, but the Italians have stepped things up in recent hours by launching their first formal bid for the Frenchman: €20m + winger Amin Younes in exchange.
It is not yet clear how Mainz will respond to this bid.
