Speaking to RMC Sport after PSG lost in their first ever Champions’ League final, club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi was magnanimous in defeat.
“Of course, we are sad. We won’t forget the great things we have achieved this season. We could have scored 2 or 3 goals this season. I am proud of our players, they have done great in this competition. We did everything we could to win but we have to accept it. Our aim remains to win the Champions’ League. Tonight, we believe in that more than before. We are very close. Everyone can leave here with their heads held high. The players achieved something together. I congratulate Bayern Munich who had a great game, they are one of the best teams in the world. We need small things to win. This was our first final, this was Bayern’s 11th. We have had a great season with 4 trophies and a Champions’ League final. But everyone is disappointed, that is normal but we did a lot of positive things. I am sorry for our supporters, we are going to work together. We are going to do everything to win this trophy.”
