Nîmes not in financial danger following decision not to restart Ligue 1 – president

Speaking to RMC Sport, Ligue 1 side Nîmes’ honorary club president Jean-Jacques Bourdin sought to expunge any concerns held by fans about the team’s economic fortunes following the French government announcement today to block the restart of Ligue 1.

“Nîmes is a healthy club, that is well managed, we have received our loan, we have healthy coffers of several millions of Euros. We are going to patiently wait for league action to come back. We could wait a year for competition to restart. Football is not above the laws… we will accept the decisions made without any protestation.”
