Ligue 1 side Dijon on Saturday announced the arrival of 26-year-old Ivorian striker Roger Assalé from Swiss outfit Young Boys on a 4-year contract for a reported €4m.
The deal should be seen as a mini-coup for Peguy Luyindula, who has been under pressure to find replacements for Stephy Mavididi and the departing Julio Tavares.
Assalé, who came close to joining Montpellier in January, had the following to say upon his arrival:
“The most important thing, is to feel that a club really wants to sign you. That was the case. I want to take the next step with this club by being part of one of the top 5 leagues in the world. A new challenge awaits me, I am going to give the best of myself to contribute to the growth of the team and the club. I am very happy, honoured and motivated to wear the Dijon shirt.”
