Ligue 1 side RC Lens on Friday announced the signing of 26-year-old left-back Issiaga Sylla on loan from Toulouse.
Talks had been ongoing for weeks, but RCL finally convinced Les Violets to allow them to loan the Guinean when TFC had initially sought to insists on a fee.
RCL will have an option to buy Sylla outright over the course of the 2020/21 campaign.
Sylla had the following to say on the move:
“Toulouse remains my first club in France, but to play in Ligue 1 and at the highest level is very important for me. I had been there for 8 years so it was therefore the right moment to continue to improve. I am happy to be here today and I hope that we will have a good season. On the pitch, I like to move forward but I also don’t forget to defend My first quality is endurance. I love to run and go back and forth. In life, I love to laugh and to create atmosphere in the dressing room by dancing. I never get angry. I try to be present for everyone.”
