Ligue 1 side Strasbourg have this evening announced the 12-month contract extension of manager Thierry Laurey, with his new deal now running until June 2021.
The deal includes a wage hike – initially Laurey had wanted a longer contract extension offering than what he received, but quickly accepted the latest offer put on the table by RCSA president Marc Keller, who had the following to say upon the announcement:
“We are happy to be able to continue the adventure with Thierry. Like each year, we got together in the middle of the season, in a cordial manner. We have always supported him, in the good and bad moments, and this news shows our desire to continue to develop the club together.”
Laurey remains one of the most under-appreciated managers in French football.
