RMC Sport have spoken to PSG President Nasser Al Khelaifi to get his opinion following the French government’s announcement to prevent all sporting activity from occurring, even behind closed doors, until at least August.
French PM Philippe confirmed in a speech this afternoon that the Ligue 1 2019/20 campaign: “could not restart.”
PSG President Al Khelaifi has respected this decision, but still wants his club to play out the rest of the Champions’ League and is even will to do so abroad if required:
“We respect the French government’s decision. In agreement with UEFA, we intend to participate in the final rounds of this season’s Champions’ League at the time and place at which it will be organised. If it is not possible to play in France, we will play our matches abroad with the assurance that we will place our players and all our staff in the best possible health conditions.”
