PSG President Al-Khelaifi: “We want to dedicate this league title to all medical workers & daily heroes.”

Speaking in an official PSG press release, club president Nasser Al Khelaifi sought to dedicate the team’s ninth Ligue 1 title to the medical professionals who are combatting COVID-19 on the frontlines.

We want to dedicate this title of champion of France of Ligue 1 2019/20 to all the medical workers and the other daily heroes whose commitment and selflessness for so many long weeks has all our admiration. We understand, respect and support the decision made by the French government to stop the league. Health, as the government has always said, must be everyone’s priority. I want to thank the players, coach, sporting and medical staff, as well as the club’s employees, for their formidable work. This title is a reward for their daily work. In these difficult times, I hope that it will bring a bit of joy and hope to all our fans. Their unconditional support allows the club to always move forward. I thank them warmly.”

“I also finally want to thank our partners for their loyalty in every circumstance. I am excited to celebrate, when the conditions allow us to, this title, with the big PSG family.”
