RMC Sport report this afternoon that Ligue 1 side Reims have already rejected three offers for 22-year-old central defender Axel Disasi for this summer, all worth below €10m.
The outlet has not been able to establish the identity of the clubs who have made these proposals, other than the fact that they come from one English side, one German side and one Spanish side. The English club was not Arsenal, but the North London side had an offer rejected by Reims for Disasi back in January and sources tell the outlet that the Gunners will accelerate negotiations to sign the player in the coming days.
Under contract with SDR until June 2021, Reims have struggled to negotiate a possible extension with the player, who does not have an agent and instead is currently using family members to conduct his personal business.
Reims want €15m excluding bonuses plus a healthy sell-on percentage clause in order to separate with the player, who is now almost guaranteed to leave the club this summer.
After signing Saliba last summer, Arsenal would like to continue to bolster their defensive ranks by using the French market.
On their side, Reims have already prepared for Disasi’s departure with the signing of Belgian youth international Wout Faes that they made back in January. He is currently at Oostende in Belgium, but joins formally at the end of this season.
