Le Télégramme report that EA Guingamp are stepping up their efforts to sign a new goalkeeper this summer, following the decision made by 26-year-old goalkeeper Marc-Aurèle Caillard to reject a 3-year extension offer made by them, which will result in him leave the club for nothing next month.
On top of Caillard’s imminent departure, EAG’s second goalkeeper, Théo Guivarch is poised to also quit, to join fellow 2nd division side Rodez.
Guingamp have already attempted an approach for 33-year-old Amiens goalkeeper Régis Gurtner, but they have been rebuffed. Now, they are turning their attention to 29-year-old Toulouse shot-stopper Baptiste Reynet. The ex-Dijon man has had a difficult campaign with Les Violets this season, where he lost his place in the starting XI to Lovre Kalinic.
Reynet is under contract with TFC until 2022, but corresponds with the profile that EAG are looking for.
In other news, reserve team goalkeeper Dominique Youfeigane (20), is poised to sign a 3-year professional deal. Like last season, he would be the 3rd choice goalkeeper in the hierarchy with EAG next season.
