Robert Lewandowski on his routine: “I don’t eat meat on matchdays.”

Speaking in an interview with France Football, Polish international and Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski discussed his pre-match routine.

“I don’t eat meat on the day of a match. It is too heavy for my body. So, I eat light, that is what I need. The meal depends on several factors: when the match is, at what time… If you eat rice or pasta, it can bring you big energy benefits in a very short space of time. But in the long term, you don’t gain anything… The most important thing, whether it be at home or after the match, is that we take this additional step. Of course, when you try it for the first time, there is going to be no effect. But together, all these little details bring about benefits.”
