St Étienne & Lille lead the charge to entice Adil Aouchiche away from PSG

L’Équipe report that a host of Ligue 1 clubs are in active discussions with 17-year-old PSG attacker Adil Aouchiche’s entourage over the possibility of signing him to a professional contract, with his current youth deal expiring in June.

The player is demanding a monthly pre-tax salary of €50k and a signing bonus of several million Euros. Rennes and Bordeaux are interested in the French youth international’s profile, but it is Lille who lead the charge and are seeking to force an agreement with the player’s camp.

St Étienne had been working very hard on a possible deal on their end, with initial approaches dating as far back as last autumn, and initially led the race, but have now lost pace for a variety of reasons: the departure of David Wantier as the club’s Head of Recruitment has contributed significantly, as has the emergence of a number of rivals for Aouchiche’s signature.

At ASSE, Aouchiche will be allowed to continue to progress by profiting from 1st team playing time, in either a #10 role or an #8 role, which is where he desires to continue his development, which is unlikely to be the case should he sign professional terms with PSG.

Aouchiche has not ruled out signing professionally with Les Parisiens, but wants more clarity around playing time and if he does not get it, could call it quits in just a couple of months time.
